If your taxable gross is 18000 then u can only claim points on that cuz u paid tax only on that amount

You claim points on your *gross salary before tax*, and not on "taxable salary"! So the statement is incorrect.yasa wrote:If your taxable gross is 18000 then u can only claim points on that cuz u paid tax only on that amount
regardsTier 1 (General) policy guidance wrote:113. If an applicant is in salaried employment, we will assess the applicant’s gross salary before tax. This includes self-employed applicants who draw a salary from their businesses. If the applicant earned the money in a country with no tax system, we will consider his/her total earnings for the period.
The issue here for people wishing to respond tou your query, I guess, is that you have not been able to clearly explain what your salary structure is.ash321 wrote:Dear sushdmehta
you mean thay are not clearly says in policy guideline that they will consider only "taxable earnings". I also understand that they will consider my "gross income before tax" and they didn't/I have also called homoffice before submtting my file they people replied that everything written in the guideline, if you are not sure just send us all the income documnets and case worker will decide it.
So you mean I can fight against the statement written in policy guideline.
I still puzzled, Is it possible to reduce taxable income by £17k by claiming expenses. I reckon, you need to show receipt for it . I know, you can claim expenses, but £17k is big amount.ash321 wrote:I f i pay all the taxes wahtever i earned then can I go for appeal?
HMRC has nothing to do with what salary structure you and your employer decided to work with in the first place. That's between you and your employer!ash321 wrote:Dear Sushdmehta,
you are right, but can i say to HMRC that my earning was xyz and whatever company made my payroll, I am not aware about that my taxable gross will be less. now I want to pay the full tax whatever I earned. will it work?
Thanks and regards
