ESKAR, I applied one day before you, so you might be able to call monday or tuesday and they might tell you if the decision was made or not... Depending on the attendant, he/she might also tell you if it was approved or not..

Don't worry if your case takes a bit longer. Each case is dealt differently.

You will get good news too! I'm sure.

refrees

Post by citizen1000 » Fri Feb 05, 2010 8:04 pm

Posted: Fri Feb 05, 2010 8:03 pm Post subject: refrees

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there
I am applying for British citizenship ( HSMP+ ILR). I am a doctor.
Both of my refrees or British doctors who worked with me. They know me for more than three years.
The guidance say that the refrees should know the applicant < Personaly> for three year.
but in the refrees section where it says how do you know the aplicant ? both my refrees have written ( WORKED WITH HIM PROFESSIONALY AS A DOCTOR)
do you thinks the word professionaly will have any impact? because indirectly professionaly mean not personay , is,nt it?
or do you thinks it will be fine
any ideas?

Thanks

@ Citizen 1000,
I am also a doctor, my refree one British consultant and asian consultant, They wrote in that section Colleague ( for me) and for my family & Kids as Colleagues wife and Kids etc ( even though british consulatnt met my family only once in last three years). My application was approved and none of my refree was contacted by HO, SO just complete section and proceed.
Good Luck,
Chaudhrei.

Here are my timelines and intend to contact local council about ceremony on Monday.

NCS or Postal : NCS Sutton Surrey
Date of submission or posting : 08/01/2010
Date recieved by HO: 11/01/2010
CRITERIA: (5 year WP+ 1 Year ILR )
Date of debit of Card : 17/01/2010 (Sunday!)
Date receipt of acknowledgement : 19/01/2010 (Dated 17/01/2010)
Date of receipt of approval : 06/02/2010 (dated 31/01/10)-Sunday!
Date of citizenship Ceremony : Pending

As you can see letters are dated on Sunday as well so things are moving fast. I am happy with the turnaround and at last civil servants are trying to prove their worth!

Hi spartac and Eskar

I would highly recommend that on Monday at 09:00 call your local council where u stated you wanted yr ceremony to be held and ask them if they have yr certificate, The Certificates are sent out by HO on thursdays and reach the councils on friday mornings, because our dates are so similar just give it a try see if they got yr certificate. I know how it feels to be stressing bout it. Good Luck Mate.

Thanks to all who have congratulated me and i wish this forum family all the best if your are still waiting for yr approval.

Many congratulations guys, particularly global gypsy, mohamedmourad, and marvelous2062.

I am starting to get a bit stressed out now. Did call them on Thu and was told it hasn’t been assigned to a caseworker yet but that ‘it shouldn’t take too long now’. Don’t know what to make of that.

Plan to call again maybe on Tue.

Hi safwan,

Ignore that HO opinion and call again next week. Thats a standard answer for all applicants. It should be a lot quicker process. Read all recently reported timelines to get an idea of how long it takes - usually about 4 to 6 weeks.

Thanks, Spartac.

No need to get stressed at all. I never called them, and recd the HO approval letter and ceremony letter from council at the same time.

I feel it's best to let HO do things are their own pace. You can't really speed up things by calling them often.

hi spartac and to all

Post by safwan » Sun Feb 07, 2010 11:43 am

hi spartac
thanks for you post

as i stated on my first post i have been in UK 15 years and i had my ILR in 1998 , so i could have applied for citizenship 11 years ago , but i did not

so i did send an application last month on 5 JAN 2010 , and the HO received it on 11 JAN 2010
i did call them friday 5 FEB 2010 and the lady i spoke to did not say the application is under consideration or any thing , she only said : between 3 and 6 months

brothers has any one have a logical explanation to this ?as from the voice of the lady i smelt some sort of bad news

Thanks to you all and CONGRATULATION TO those who got the good news

The logical explanation is that you are looking for a problem that does not exist. If you are told it will take 3 to 6 months, why can't you just accept that?

safwan, you need to appreciate that the fact your could have applied for Naturalisation years ago will not make any difference at all to the time it will now take for your application to be dealt with.

Please confirm that you were physically in the UK exactly 5 years before UKBA received the Naturalisation application.
