Urgent - Tier1 Extension Query

Post by HSMP_2007 » Fri Feb 05, 2010 1:49 pm

Hi All,

I got HSMP in 2007 and I have applied extension using tier1 system and got visa extend till 2011.
During this period i was out of UK more than 5 months so i can't apply for ILR. My questions are
- is it I can apply again tier1?
- Do I need PG degree for eligibility and what are other eligibility criteria as per new rules?
- If they give Visa, is it going to be again 3 years or 2 years?
- Or not at all eligible for a Tier1 visa category?
TIA

Thanks.. There are other couples of queries !!

How it is 3 years? Already i got 3 years it must be 2 years? please clarify ?

Since I am eligible extend, it means next 12 months I need to work continuously to show salary income? What is the risk doing a contract work during this period? Direct impact is losing a job in contract highly possible.
Any recommendations for this?

TIA

Currently Tier1(G) visa approvals are for 3years... pls check the people who recently got extension from HSMP.. .
hsmp rules are now NO more..

Example
Type: HSMP to Tier 1 (General) Extension
Application date: 16-Dec-2009 by Royal mail special delivery
Payment deducted : 21st Dec 2009
Approval Date: 18th Jan 2010
Document received: 21 Jan 2010
Visa valid till: 18 Jan 2013

Many thanks for all your help.
regarding extension eligibility.. dont worry abt that u need to be having job everyday.. at the time of extension you need to have enough points for Earnings for ex. if u require 40K to qualify even if you work for 1month and earn 40K in that month which falls in the last 15months period you are eligible..

Generally, when PG degree eligibility rule will be required?
The person who is already in UK via HSMP/TIER1 Combinations for 5 years still some reason they are not eligible for ILR. Is it person can apply 'n' number of times can apply tier1 visa using bachelor degree eligibility or PG?
TIA

ILR is not mandatory it is a choice.. a person can opt to keep on extending his Tier1 on stay on Tier1 visa...

May I suggest that the OP reads the Tier 1 policy guidance.
