Questions on a UK Visa application form require the applicant to declare any travel outside their own country in the previous 10 years and whether he/she has been removed or "otherwise required to leave" another country.
Given that people making Assisted Voluntary Returns are often failed asylum seekers who given up on being allowed to stay in whatever country, it would most certainly have an effect on an application to come here. Aside from that anyone who has travelled abroad and then cast themselves on the charity of the host country is hardly a good bet for being allowed in somewhere else.
