Unused Tier1 general time period

Unused Tier1 general time period

I am in US and currently have a contract job here. I just got my Tier1 General visa. Should I enter UK immediately or anytime as long as my visa is valid. is there a time limit? Also, if say if I enter UK after 6 months, can I use these unused 6 months during extension of Tier1 general?

You may enter UK as long as the Visa is valid. The time you lapsed can't be utilized later!
