Application sent before christmas - no visa yet!

Hi,
Just wondering if its just me or if there is anybody else out there who sent their application on or before dec 21st, and are yet to receive their documents - with/without the visa- back? I sent mine on the 21st of Dec 09 and have heard nothing back except for the acknowledgement letter. Am starting to get a little paranoid about the whole now. It would be nice to hear about experiene of others as well.

Dec 21st is quite some time ago and many people who applied later than that have received. Do call them to check on the status. Do you forsee any reasons why it is late. Some times it might be because it is delayed in transit.[/quote]

The turnaround time is 28 days to 31days. most people receive theirs this period.

when did you receive youe ACK letter?

I got the ack a few days after sending the application off - around the 23rd.
Oddly enough, while I am aniously waiting, I got call from the Home Office today saying my application was returned back to them on the 18th of January and it has been sitting around since then! THey asked me to reconfirm the address on the pre-paid application I had sent them, and it was correct! It might have been that the postperson came when there was nobody home to collect it, but no, s/he left no msg behind saying the package had been missed!
This is annoying but at least I know I havent lost myt passport etc! Wish I had called them [the home office] earlier or they had, could have saved a lot of time and anxiety!
Anyway, hopefully I will receive everything by tuesday now and I hope my visa was approved!
