Current processing times for in person applications

Hi
first i have heard that the in person application submission are going to be stopped from 1st april 2010, has anyone else got any more info on this
and what are the current processing times for in person applications i know they are not doing it on the same day but how long is it taking to get a decesion if the case is straight forward?
