Tier Dependant- Accomodation proof/Tenancy Agreement

Post by missri » Wed Feb 17, 2010 10:46 pm

I am in UK now and I want to apply for my family's visa to join me. I have rented a property (2 bed flat for me and my wife and one kid) and I only have tenancy agreement for 1 year. I am going to get the flat from March 01.
Is tenancy agreement alone sufficient as a proof of accomodation? Or Do I need to attach some utility bills. I have 3 months proof of maintenance fund as well.
Please advice as my family need to apply by March 15.

That is more than enough for accomodation proof..

Sorry to ask again but that's how things are turning to be.

Instead of 2 bed flat, I got 1 bed flat with a lounge. I think it should be enough for me, my wife and 1 year old daughter? Am I right?

How do I get the original tenancy agreement? It is normally kept by the property agent. Can I send a photocopy of it to be attached with dependant's application??

Please guide.

Thank you for the reply.

So, it's make us 2.5. Taking into account the bedroom and living room both of whic are more than 50 square feet the accommodation is sufficient for us.

Regarding second question?? Do I need to send original tenancy agreement or a copy will serve the purpose?

You could ask your property agent to give you 2 copies, I am sure they would not hesitate, if questioned why, then you have a reason for it. You can keep one for yourself and send off another to your family back home. If it's original it makes things easier, preventing any chances for doubt/suspicion.
