Tier1 Dependant Application Checklist and VAF10- lil URGENT

Hello Guru's,

I am applying for my wife's dependant visa on my Tier 1 general migrant (I have it stamped earlier). I am in India, have not traveled to UK on Tier 1 and I do NOT have job offer in the UK. Now, I wish to apply for wife's dependant and travel together.

I have following doubts filling the VAF10 form.

In part 7 of the VAF10 'About the main applicant' id do not have much and accurate information about what to fill in for following questions. (I am not clear reading the PBS guidance)

Q 7.2 Are you accompanying the main applicant or joining him/her later?
She will accompany me when we travel. What should is select considering my case explained above?

Q 7.13 If the main applicant is living in the UK what permission do thay have to stay there?
I am leaving this field blank

Q7.14 What job or course of study is the main applicant doing in the UK?
I am in India, not doing any job or study in UK.
Is it good to leave this field blank too? Will this have any affect on the ECO's decision

Q7.16 Name and address of the company or place of study including postal code.
I have nothing to write here. Leaving it blank

7.17 Name and telephone number of main contact in the company
I have nothing to write here. Leaving it blank

7.18 When the main applicant job or course of study begin
I have nothing to write here. Leaving it blank

7.19 When is the job or course of study expected to finish
I have nothing to write here. Leaving it blank


I understand from this forum's that I can apply for dependant being in India and without a job in UK. But still bit worried, is it good to leave so many fields blank?

Also in the personal details, I presume that my wife's middle name and family name will be her maiden names(before marriage names). Please correct me if wrong.


Also to check with you experience people, following are the contents of my application, please point out if anything is missing

1. VAF 10 Form
2. Fees
3. Marriage Certificate (My marriage certificate had both languages Marathi and English. There for I am not translating it to English).
4. Wedding photos, wedding reception photos and engagement photos (9 to 10 photos in all)
5. Pan card of wife with name changed after marriage
6. My personal bank statement showing 5000 GBP for last one year
7. My salary slips 12 months (Feb 2009 to Jan 2010)
8. Wife's Passport
9. My passport copies. Since I am here in India is it necessary to submit my original passport too.
10.Wife's Photos (35mm X 45mm, 80% of the photo shows face)
11.Email conversation with the landlord confirming my booking at the B&B for 2nd week of March 2010
12.Email conversation with the house owner whose apartment we will rent after entering UK.
13.Few print outs showing job openings and replies from employers.
14. Cover letter.





Is it necessary to submit the following?

1. My CV
2. Link to wedding invitation website

Which questions you left blank in part 7 and why?

For dependents visa, you don't need to submit..

I have not submitted the application yet. Have not got VFS appointment...

Guys One small query. Do i need to attest (TRUE COPY) my (primary's) passport photo copies while applying tier 1 defendant.

They have not mentioned on the website regarding this.. I want to know ur experiences.

6. My passport copies. Since I am here in India is it necessary to submit my original passport too.
7. Dependent's Photos (35mm X 45mm, 80% of the photo shows face)
8. Email conversation with my Brother (working in UK from last 3 years)confirming my stay in UK with him during my travel to UK.
9. Cover Letter - What should i write???
