Perhaps time for NCS staff at the said office to undergo a refresher course on British Nationality Act!Tim555 wrote: Today Nationality Check Service ( Waltham forest - London ) refused to give me an appointment because my ILR is not 12 months old and advised me to wait for another 12 months as I can not qualify for 3 years british spouse rule.

Read Nationality Instructions > Chapter 18 > para 18.2.2.1 and para 18.2.2.2, in particular 18.2.2.2 (d).

Thats great news that you got your ILR. Can you tell me, did they allow your wife to enter the building and sit with you during the process.
Also you mention you had letters from your employer, what did these say?
Many Thanks
Thanks John.John wrote:If you continue to have problems with that NCS office, complain to www.oisc.gov.uk who regulate such offices.
Thanks for UR regards. I've not submit my Citizenship application yet so have no appeal. Though there was a problem with a local NCS office, investigation is in progress now.juliajules1979 wrote:Hi Tim
Many thanks for your reply. Its so difficult when you do these applications to know what to include!
My husband and I are currently living at my parents, and hope to do so for a while yet (so much cheaper). Therefore we do not have many docs in joint names, mainly docs in sole names, therefore every letter counts!
I feel I am developing a bit of an obsession with letter saving! Will be glad when its all over.
Good luck with the Citiizenship appeal.
That means u have enough time to prepare documentation. Good luckjuliajules1979 wrote:Many thanks Tim. ILR not for another 11 months!! But I'm starting early, making sure I have everything that is needed. Have lots of important letter for the year just gone (DVLA, DSA, NHS, Doctors etc.) But its making sure we have similar important ones for this year also!
In'shallah this time next year, my husband will have ILR!!
Many thanks for all your advice.
No need for photocopies bring all original docs. They ( Home Office ) will do photocopies ( of their selected docs ). Arrange it neatly by years ( e.g jan 2008, feb 08,....... so on, in date order together/mix joint and single name). They will ask you to forward supporting docs than u have to forward whole batch of docs. They will go through each and every document and select the certain ( on their choice ) gets the photocopies and returns the original.juliajules1979 wrote:Hi Tim
Sorry its me again. Could u tell me did you take photocopies of all your documents with you? Also how did you arrange everything? For example in date order, joint and single letters separate etc?
One more thing, did you have difficulties booing your appointment with the peo? Any tips for when they add dates etc. Did you book by phone or net.
Once again I thank you for all your help.
Julia
Yes phone appointment service will be available 6 to 8 weeks in advance. Once you ring them ( 6 - 8 weeks in advance ) atleast you get an idea where are the appointment dates exactly at.juliajules1979 wrote:Thanks so much for all your help. Do the phone appointment service make appointments avaliable 8-10 weeks in advance? Thats very good of them!
I will start calling 2 and half months in advance. And you said that 8.59am is the best time to call. I will do that. Did you have difficulties booking your appointment?
Many thanks.
