Post by Sibtain Abbas » Thu Feb 25, 2010 8:55 pm

hi Seniors..

can we work 20 hrs per week on a pgd course(leading to MBA)??

coz according to new policy on ukba official website it states..

"halving the amount of time a student studying below first degree level or on a foundation degree course will be able to work, to just 10 hours during term time;
a ban on bringing in dependants for anyone studying a course for less than six months"

but it is not mentioned whether pgd is equivalent to degree level or not??

can anyone plz temme??

Thanks in advance..

Do you already hold a student visa? Sounds like current students that hold a student visa aren't affected. Someone will come and correct me if I'm wrong.

Elena is female I think.

Why do you need to work, you are not allowed to use the income from the working provision to fund ur studies you know.

Yep 100% female stevo. Sibtain, I would have thought that the "elena" bit would be a give away of my gender(why does everyone think I'm a guy??!!).

Anyways, I'm pretty sure if you're in between an undergrad and a postgrad you're considered to be at degree level.

mate..you are planning to do a post GRADUATE diploma which is above the degree level(NQF 4)..Hence you can work 20 hrs/week.
