Hi citizen1000,

'Under Consideration' means the case has been alocated to a case worker. Now have faith that it will be very soon that you will hear the good news. Normally it doesn't take more than a week and a half for a worker to decide. Its the allocation that takes time.

So good luck .

I phoned them this morning. I had phoned last friday as well. Last Friday the answer was that my application was still under the initial checks.
Today they said that the application is under consideration now. when i asked that does under consideration mean that it is with case worker? then he said yes. But at the same time then said 3-6months average time.

Atleast its good that application has moved from initial checks to underconsideration stage now

Jerryanderson,

I have followed all of your messages. Now that you have started panicking, I thought I must jump in.

Referee on the AN application form is a formality that you should fulfil. It does not mean that HO will contact the referee as part of their background check and then decide the case. Its by law that whenever (god forbid) there are questions about your case in future, these referees shall be contacted for references. I guarantee you that you would be fine with this for this application (AN).

However, referee on Passport form is somewhat different. They call the referee as part of their scruitny. Hence morale of the story is that you MUST change your referees for passport application.

I hope this helps and relieves your tension.

***** UPDATE *****

I called the 0151 number and enquired about the status of letter whether or not it has been despatched. They advised that they have arranged to despatch the letters on 3rd of March. However, I did not receive any post as of this afternoon from UKBA.

I then called my council and they said they haven't received anythign either. Perhaps next week.':('

If he is on bail, then he must have been charged with something significant. Might be a problem - They may ask you to provide another referee. I suggest you pre-empt that and find another potential referee in case they ask for it

No bail does not mean the person is charged..It means still under investigation
Hi Jerryanderson,

I think being on bail normally means he has been charged and therefore arrested for an offence, but not yet convicted. Although I believe in certain cases people can be arrested without charge and bail.

Either way, its best for you to have a back-up plan and another referee lined up.
Being arrested is nothing to worry about.
Many people are arrested and dearrested later
It is only a method that police use to curtail your freedom

Hi Citizen1000,

I guess you will get a good news in 1 week time Good Luck.

I think they are awaiting for a reply from initial checking team as this checking is very important. They just want to make sure applicent has no Criminal record or bad immigration history etc AND to make sure applicent is good resident.

So time this procedure takes time ( upto 3 to 6 months ) but most of the time it only takes 4 to 6 weeks from submissing of application.

Hope for best,

TIM

I just find an interesting thing that Nationality Contact centre will remain close on 8th and 9th of March 2010.

Nationality contact centre
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the nationality contact centre will be closed on Monday 8 March and Tuesday 9 March. We will re-open on Wednesday 10 March, when a full service will be resumed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The nationality contact centre can provide information on British citizenship and right of abode only.

The centre is currently experiencing high call volumes which may lead to a delay in your call being answered.

Wow! That was Fast!

I think this is record time. Fastest I've ever seen at least. You got the approval letter in less than 3 weeks of submission and UKBA actually took exactly 2 weeks to process your application.

Congrats and enjoy the sigh of relief :)

Hello Moh30,

Please advise whether or not you have mentioned this IVA (CCJ) on your application form.

If you have mentioned , then believe me IVA does not have any affect on the application. However not mentioning it at all and UKBA finding it out later somehow will definitely bring some unwanted results. This will also be detremental to any future applications.
