Hi,

No. They take your signature to match with what is on your application. That's it. No fingerprint and crap!!

They ask only about what you have mentioned in the application like parents, grand parents and some bank/card details.

Donot worry too much. Just remember birth/marriage dates !!

Good Luck

4) the name of my bank
5)the name of my referee
6) how long have i known the person
7)the profession of the referee and the address
8--if there is anyone else livin at my address
9) how long i have been at that address
10) if i used the check and send
11) if i have received my supporting documents fro the application back

Hi guys

Thank you for your good wishes. :D

Good luck to all those who are still waiting.

To Joe London

The documents they photocopied were:

1. My current passport + previous one to cover the whole 6 years' period
2. My husband's passport and his blue PR card
3. Marriage certificate
4. Life in UK Test certificate
5. My second passport (as I'm a dual national by birth)

PS they said they only asked for my husband's ID + marriage certificate because I want to use my married name on my British passport. I am still using my maiden name on both my existing passports (I've just been too lazy to sort it out).

They told me that the list of documents for EEA nationals on the AN guide applies to EEA nationals and their family members who have not gone through the EEA4 PR application.

As I have applied and been granted PR, my application was on the basis of 5 year lawful residency, evidence of which is the stamps on my passports.

I took all the docs I could get my hand on with me to the NCS appointment and they did not need most of it, but it I had to go through it again I would still take everything with me just in case.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you. :D

Not yet Tim. I'm going to wait until Thursday to see if I receive an approval letter. It seems from past timelines of straightforward applications that it was an average of around 8 days from receipt of acknowledgement to receipt of approval.

See below of comparison of my timeline and another approved one which was similar. Marvellous's timeline from page 151 I think:

The + then a number given is the number of days in between the stages.

If I don't get anything by Thursday I will ring on Friday to check to see if it is already with a caseworker.

I've recently got my ILR ( less than 3 weeks ago ) and my application is very straighforward HO has recently done initial checking for me. May be they decide quickly :D 8). Let wait patiently Hope for the best.

How long does it normally take for passport office to contact first time applicants. This bit of information is not normally provided in the applicant history.

We applied for the passports on Saturday 27 February, 2 adults, where we should get an interview letter, and one child, who should simply get his passport sent though. 9 days on and still not a word from them.

What I have worked out - based on reported cases - is that on average, it takes under 16 days to get a passport once you submit an application.

Hi guys this is my 1st post in this forum. I have few questions and i hope someone here will help me out.

I recently acquired British nationality and I will be receiving my British passport in next few days. I am an Indian passport holder and currently holds 2 passports (1 expired and 1 valid). I will be surrendering my Indian passport soon and I would like to know how much I need to pay them is it £90+£90 or just £90 for both?

I am also not sure about this PIO and OCI card which one should I take? I just want to visit India every 2 years or so without taking visa for each journey.

Any help really appreciated!!

Hello spartac,

What I have noticed that from submission (submission day must be a business day) to getting the interview letter is arounf 9 days altogether.

Since you submitted your application on Saturday, hence start counting from Monday the 1st of March. You should be hearing from them perhaps tomorrow or day after tomorrow.

This has also been observed earlier that after a hectec week (as last week) the following week remain calm in terms of receiving approvals. I am expecting this week to be not that productive. But do not get diappointed and distressed, you may be getting the news soon.

Hello ozone,

welcome aboard.

With regards to British passport, I guess you need to renounce your Indian citizenship before you apply for British passport ?

Don't know the answer to that but my guess would be that they do more checks on Naturalization applications. I say this because for ILR UKBA offer the one-day premium service and they are able to perform all their checks in one day ( a few hours really).

There isn't such a service for Naturalization maybe for that reason - that they can't perform all the checks in one day. But I don't think any of us can know for sure.

Can you let me know when you got your interview letter for your passport and when they returned the original supporting documents. I'm waiting for IPS to contact me 9 days post application and getting just a little concerned.

Are we now saying that the whole of the HO staff is on strike??

Hello

Just have a question regarding the Citizenship Ceremony.

I just rang up to book my slot and the first available time is 20 April 2010  which is 6 weeks away.

Does anyone know how much it costs to arrange a private ceremony? I live in Leeds and on the Leeds City Council website it said that the cost depends on the time and place at which you wish to have the ceremony.

I have done a quick google search and search results show prices from £43 to £123 from all over in the UK.

I forgot to ask the lady at the Council when I had her on the phone. Now I can't get through at all.

I would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this.
