Child Benefit and back dated ILR Letter

Hi,

Got the ILR. Many Thanks for the useful threads and all help from this forum. I will update my ILR thread tonight.

I am now looking forward to claim Child benefit.
Is there any potential issue with claiming it before naturalisation / citizenship?

Also my ILR is stamped on Feb last week. But have got a supplementary letter suggesting that it is backdated to mid of January. Can I claim from mid of January then? Or will it trouble me during naturalisation / Citizenship application for accessing public funds before the stamping date?

Claiming CB shouldn't affect your naturalisation application once you are granted ILR. And you can only claim a backdated CB payment up until the time you were entitled for it. i.e if you would have been entitled for CB before you were granted ILR, then it may be backdated upto 3 months.
