Hey Guys,

I applied for a tier one general renewal (see my timeline below) for me and dependant. It's been over 4 weeks now I've notice that they have only taken out the application fee for the main applicant and not the dependent (i.e. the 50 quid). Has anyone had that happen to them before?

I'm worried that once the case officer realises that the dependent fee hasnt been taken out it gets sent back to the payment department and goes back to the end of the que again to start the 4 week waiting period again!?

reallly worried - any comments anyone has would be appreciated.

Guys Just tracked my application on the royalmail website and it says "We have received your item and expect to deliver it before the guaranteed time on 12/03/10".Will update tomorrow with the result.

I am waiting for my dosc back. As i applied for Tier 1 (General)...How long the whole process take? Below is my time line:

Applied: 28th Januray 2010
Recieved: 29th January 2010
Payment deducted: 11 Feb 2010
Acknowldgment Recieved: 15 the Feb 2010

Till then there i no communication....Its making me bit worried...Whats going on? So just want to know anyone has got thier passport back who applied on same date? And how long the whole process could take? or how further do i need to wait? Cheers...

Application Sent : 08.02.2010 by next day special delivery
Application Recvd : 09.02.2010

Visa Expiry : 06.03.2010

Hello Folks, I have been following this thread quite closely and I am waiting for my passport just like rest of you.

However, my predicament is that I have an interview on Tuesday and then I am (hopefully) flying to Delhi on 23rd for a wedding. I too didn't enclose the SD envelop (duh!!), but back then I had no plans of going home, and presumed that 7 weeks would be plenty for a straight forward application. I could possibly get away with the just the acknowledgment letter for the interview but would hate to see Â£550 going down the drain. Anyway here's my timeline:

Type: work permit to Tier 1 general extension

Application sent : 2nd Feb
Application received : 3rd Feb
Fee deducted : 10th Feb
Acknowledgment letter dated : 11th Feb
Letter Received: 13th Feb
Visa stamped:
Application received: depends on postman Pat

Hi Spang,

Yes they have taken the dependants fee and main applicants fee in one transaction. 1 main applicant 820 + 2 dependants 100, they have made a single transaction of 920 from my credit card.

Dont worry you will get your visa. Just matter of time.

@Daheiniao: As both of us applied on same date and both are waiting for passports to come back. I have not got mine yet, so hopefully in coming week we can get? Don't know whats going on. People who applied after us some have got thier back. Anyways as our payments took longer to deduct so may be by the end of this month, we shall be able to get Visas and docs. Keep updating...Cheers.

Can anyone advise whether we should chase up with Home Office with regard to our application? If yes, how (I mean do we need to give them a reference number)? I have been told that it creates negative impact if we call them. Any comments on this will be helpful

well chasing up does not create a negetive impact....but u can only chase up with them after 8 weeks starting from the day they receive ur application...anyways even if u call them their reply will be '' under process''...so why dont u wait till the end of this week?? hopefully we will get a reply by the end of the week.
