is legal aid public funds?

would claiming legal aid breach the conditions on a family visit visa of claiming public funds.

Legal aid is not within the definition of Public Funds, as in para 6 of the Immigration Rules.

The Legal Services Commission (LSC) directly funds legal services for eligible clients. Organisations with a contract with the LSC have been able to provide advice or representation funded by the LSC. In family law, only specialist firms are funded to do the work.
