Just stay positive, there's really nothing we can do once it's in their hands!
Hope you get yours back soon. Will post an update when I get mine.

Hi Guys,
This is a swell forum for the nerve-racking wait.
My timelines
Sent: 06/02/2010
Reached: 09/02/2010
Acknowledgement Letter Dated: 13/02/2010
Waiting for my docs to come back. Tracking my SD reference number on Royal Mail website, but no luck so far. According to the overall feeling, I was hoping I'd get my docs in about 5 weeks time. No such luck.
The wait is still on.
All the best to the rest.

Guys,
I am planning to apply for Tier 1 as soon as the recommended changes are in. I am wondering if the processing times are influenced by how busy the place of application(embassy/consulate) is? Would it be probably faster if I apply in Copenhagen than in Chennai due to the relatively lesser number of applicants in the former embassy? or does the applications get sent to UK anyway and the place of application doesn't matter with regards to the processing times? Please clarify.

If you have valid resident permit and are working and have bank account detials in Copenhagen then that is the best option..

im sorry i made a mistake there...all chasing up can only be done after 14 weeks not 8 weeks...i dunno if they will provide us with progress info before that...when u call them they will ask u for ur name and dob and thats how they get the update for u.
thanks
sudhi4uk wrote:well chasing up does not create a negetive impact....but u can only chase up with them after 8 weeks starting from the day they receive ur application...anyways even if u call them their reply will be '' under process''...so why dont u wait till the end of this week?? hopefully we will get a reply by the end of the week.
thanks

Can anyone advise whether we should chase up with Home Office with regard to our application? If yes, how (I mean do we need to give them a reference number)? I have been told that it creates negative impact if we call them. Any comments on this will be helpful

Congrats mLondon.
Horribly though, I have sent my application earlier and I havent got my docs back yet. A little worried.
For some reason, my application has been diverted to the Croydon Office and I guess they take longer than they do in Sheffield.

Well, when they deducted the fees, my statement read Home Office Croydon. I was quite surprised. Guess, due to the overload, some applications have been diverted there.
Hoping (wishing) to get the docs soon enough

Mine says it was issued in Sheffield, so that might be it - Croydon might be a bit slower. Hope it all goes well
I wouldn't worry though, it also depends on how fast the caseworker goes through the application. Stay hopeful.

Yes, I included a pre-paid SD (special delivery) envelope with my application, and had it addressed to my work rather than home.

I have also enclosed a self address SD envelope addressed to my work place.
Home Office reported strikes on 8th and 9th March and said that claims at Croydon office will be delayed. I am not sure if claims are the same are applications. That could be another reason for delay.
All the best to everyone out there... Hopefully tomorrow is a better day.[/b]
