No applicants in Jan ?

Post by TintinHerge » Fri Feb 03, 2006 4:19 pm

Hi All

Passed the Living in the Uk Test on Wednesday.

Next step for me is to go to the NCS and apply . I have made an appointment (Earliest Avaialble in my area -Wandsworth - was in April, so I booked one in Wembley where I got one in 2 weeks time from now, which gives me enough time to get all the documents in place)

A bit disappointed to see there are no posts abt applications in Jan , as that wud have given me an idea abt what the timelines are these days.

Anyone has any feedback abt if there are any particularly good or particularly bad NCS centres (I hope Wembley is not in the latter category).

Also, does paying by Credit/Switch card make the process any quicker than Cheques, etc? Logically thinking , it should.

I want to again congratulate the Owners, Moderators and everyone else on this board for all the information here - it has helped me immensely in planning everything smoothly.

Regards
Tintin

Indeed, as you suspect, yes it does.

The NCS office forward the application to Liverpool and the first thing they do there is process the payment aspect. If paying by card that is almost instant ... by cheque it takes a few days.

Only after they are sure they have payment will the application be passed on for consideration.

NCS offices? It really should make no difference at all which NCS office you apply to. All they are doing is checking that all the required evidence is there and that the form has been properly completed. Only if they are satisfied will they agree to pass the form on to Liverpool.

The main benefit is that they will take their own photocopy of your passport and hand that passport straight back to you. Also, it really does seem as if Liverpool often give priority to applications submitted via NCS.

Congratulations on passing the test.

wandsworth ncs appointment in april?

congrats k2004, my dates are similar, i also applied at ncs brent, though a week ealier on the 1st of november
though i have not received my approval. but your approval gives me hope that it will be some time this month

tried to call the mlast night but got the standard message that they were busy and i got cut off.

any idea why was there a 8 day delay in dated approval and receipt of approval, was it the postal service, or delayed posting by the home office

K224, I would strongly advice you to write to the IND and let them know that altough they've said the supporting documents are being enclosed, but, there was nothing inside. Make sure you send it by recorded delivery, otherwise at the end if you don't receive your supporting documents, they would just turn back and say look we have it in our record that we have sent them out to you.

Ahhh right.. that makes more sence now. From few previous applicant it looks like most haven't received their cirtificates altough few did which sounds strange. Good luck with your application anyway.

K2004 Congratulations. Since you’ve attended a private ceremony, who was there when you took your oath? Just curious.
