Tier 1 Clarification needed - urgent

Post by ammu12345 » Mon Mar 22, 2010 9:54 pm

I would need some clarification on Tier 1 documents to show past earnings. I just got a bachelors degree hence i would be applying for Tier 1 when the new rules comes in.

My current gross earnings for the past year is about 33k working as an engineer and hence i would be short by abt 2k to get to the required benchmark. i was thinking of working part time and earn the remaining 2 k.

My question , would the immigration have any problems if i show that i earned the remaining 2 k while working in a takeaway shop since i am an engineer? i would also need some clarificaton on the documents to prove the earnings from the takeaway shop since they would be paying me by cheque?.....anyones help would be appreciated!

i am pretty sure you can combine your full-time earning and part-time earnings to claim earning points.

take-away job is a legal job and no caseworker can rule it illegal just because you happen to have a degree.

i think, you will be fine if you can show 35k gross pay in last 12 month period.

regards

PS. can i ask you which company you are working for as i am also an engineering graduate and how long have you been working for the company. private message me if you like.

thanks

Payslips and bank statements matching the cheque deposits should be fine.

With the new rules, there will be some applicants who might fall a little less than the required earnings threshold. So, they might be showing that they are doing a part time job and earnings from it. So,the HO might want to make sure that they are doing the job that they claim to be doing. So, they might be calling the part time employers to verify. If you have actually worked there and the employer has paid the tax, NI etc, he would have a record of you details.
