The company I am currently working for is about to start the process of applying for a work permit on my behalf (first stage - advertising). About a month ago they were a not sure whether they wanted to ahead with the WP sponsorship so I started apply for jobs. I have been to a few interviews and today I was offered a job. My current immigration status is that I am waiting for a judgement to be made about my application for ILR (ECC application), I am not optimistic about the outcome and therefore I want to try and get a WP ( I have checked and I can legally work)
Questions:
1. Do I accept the offer at this new job or do I stay put?
2. If I decide to take the new role will my new employers have to go through the process of readvertising and interviewing for the role or will I just make an application straight away?
3. If I accept the new job what is the likelyhood of entrance visa refusal back in Kenya (need to switch visa)?
4. If I get the work permit can I commence work at my new employer and then go to Kenya in a couple months time to apply for a visa?
Cheers

Sorry? What is your current immigration status in the UK? And why do you think the outcome of your application might be a refusal?

John, for a brief history regarding the OP, see:

I don't anticipate you to have a problem when applying for WP EC back in Kenya provided you meet the usual accomodation/support requirements.

Quick Update:
I decided to take the job and therefore had to leave the UK because I was told by my employers that my application could not be made while I was in-country. Anyway I left the UK on 16/03/2006 and by the 24/03/2006 the WP had been approved. I received it on the 03/04/2006 and lodged my application for an entry clearance visa on the same day with The British High Commission in Nairobi. I was called for an interview on the 11/04/2006. In the interview they questioned me about immigration history in the UK (for those of you who have not read my history please start reading from my previous postings). After the interview the entry clearance officer told me to pick up my passport on the 13/04/2006 but when I went there, it was not ready for pick-up. So I rang them on the 18/04/2006 and they said that they were waiting for some documentation that I had given to be verfied. Since then I have been ringing them everyday but they have feed me the same line.
Questions:
What is the maximum processing time for an entry clearance visa?
What do you think they are verifying and why do you think it's taking so long?
Has anyway one had a similar exprience?
Cheers

Does anyone know whether there is a set maximum EC visa processing time for an out of country visa EC application?

No, there is not, and the actual time varies very considerably from country to country.
