Switching to Tier 1. Have concern for dependents

Post by sandyk » Fri Mar 26, 2010 5:02 pm

Hello Gurus,

I am currently in UK on work permit and planning to switch to Tier 1. My dependents are with me in UK on dependent VISA. I am eligible according the point based system for Tier 1. But I have only 1 concern regarding my dependent's (daughter's) passport expiry.

Her passport is going to expire on 28th June 2011.

What will happen if I send my application in April 2010. Will my daughter get the Visa for next 3 years?

Your advice will much appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,
Sandy

As per HO all applicants passport should be valid for a min of 6months when they apply for visa.. but since you have got nearly 15months. its not a problem

And once you get the visa on ur dependents passport and once u get new passport before the old one expires..

1. you can transfer the viginnette/visa to the new passport by sending it to HO

2. carry both the passports and keep the visa on the old passport
