Which countries would I qualify for with THIS?

Greetings.

I am a 23 year old single Pakistani male (hmm...sounds like the start of some dating profile) who has been back home since January 2009.

I possess two University degrees both from the University of Manchester:

* BSc (Hons) Textile Technology & Management
Sept 2004 to July 2007 with a final mark of 2:2

* MPhil Textiles
Sept 2007 to February 2009

So essentially I am a Textile Engineer/Technologist. However, the situation in my country is getting worse both economically and politically for obvious reason.

I chose the wrong field to study. I dont have any family background in Textiles either.

Textiles in Pakistan has been badly affected by the power crises, lack of innovation and importance towards the textile dyeing and finishing processes (which I chose to specialise in), EU & American quotas for Pakistani textile products, as well as a general declining export of finished textiles goods in Pakistan.

That has made me face a lack of any consistent employment in my field because of low pay, and an annoying insistence of 'experience' required by mill owners who are scared of foreign qualified students in Pakistan.

I have become a rather disgruntled and disheartened Pakistani who now feels he cannot live in his homeland any more.

I did however manage to teach 2 full semesters at my local public University's Textile Engineering department as a Visiting Lecturer (and again they were scared of my qualifications and paid me shit only after I completed the term). They still owe me a full semester's worth of wages - yes this is how they treat a Visiting Lecturer.

So long story short, I want to leave Pakistan forever. I need to know which countries I can apply for that have a soft spot for UK-qualified non-EU engineering students.

I want to return to UK, but I find my lack of a consistent earning very problematic given their rule changes for Tier 1 (General) work permits.

That is why I am asking about EU countries now.

What will I need to do, and what will be the requirements etc.

First of all, I am sorry to hear your experience but your rant about how bad the situation in Pakistan is rather unfair and actually offensive. Pakistan is a poor third world country being ruled by corrupt elite, remember ??? Just like any other third world country. I would suggest instead of blaming Pakistan, you should blame the ruling elite or even better, blame Allah for letting you born in Pakistan.

Moreover, there are millions and millions of qualified people like yourself all over the world who are 'disgruntled and disheartened' and want to leave their home countries forever for better life in EU countries, UK, US whatever. So your being 'disgruntled and disheartened' and wishing to leave Pakistan forever doesn't make even an iota of difference.

I am also surprised that despite having lived in UK for about 4-5 years, you still sound like those Pakistanis who think that UK and Europe are some kind of paradise where money and oppertunities are waiting for them.

Having said that, my advise for you would be to focus your attention on moving to UK. Having lived in both UK and Europe, I can tell you that UK is much easier from every aspect.

I am not pissed off at your views but the way you wrote that post, made it sound like it was some paindoo ( idiot villager ) who wrote that post and not someone who ( claims to have ) graduated from a UK university.

I guess in your case you are not behaving like Meera. You are behaving like Adnan Sami Khan. Who blamed Pakistan and moved to India for better future even changed his nationality.

Now whenever there is a tense situation between Pakistan and India Bhaal Takhraay ( an Indian Political Leader ) threats him to leave India. Now he feels East or West Pakistan is best.

Term 'Leave Forever' is bit harsh and hard. Leave on temp bases is even hard but for better future, is acceptable but its impossible to break every relation forever with own people, family and with Apni Maathi ( Pakistan ).

I'm wondering wherever you go, wherever you live you can not remove Pakistani stamp from your body,skin, soul. Wherever you go in this World people will clearly see Pakistani reflection on you. You will be Pakistani even though you manage to change you nationality. People will treat, deal and serve you like Pakistanis. End of day you are nothing without Pakistan you can not hide yourself, you can not run forever from Pakistan you will be headed back at some stage in life mentally or physically, may be alive or dead, if you successfully escape.

Dont blame Pakistan. Did Pakistan advised you to do this particular course/study? It was your own fault, your own decison so It would be fair and honest if you blame yourself rather than Pakistan. If you can not give anything back to Pakistani atleast dont throw offensive remarks like that....

There is an old punjabi saying ''Jahray eithay pahray oh Lahore ve pahray'' ( Poeple who do nothing overhere, can not do better overthere, they just chill out ).
