tier 2 to tier 1

Hi

I am on intra-company transfer Visa (tier 2) in UK for last 6 months. Can I apply for tier 1 from UK or do I need to go back to my country (India) to apply from there ?

Also, can my wife who is currently on dependent tier 2 work in the UK ?

You can apply for Tier1 within UK..

I am on work permit (pre-tier old system), can i apply to switch to tier 1, taking into consideration the coming changes after 6th April 2010?
