Entry Clearance Extention(HSMP Approved)

Post by exujing » Sat Feb 11, 2006 1:59 pm

Hello guys,

I think I've got a unique question here. I submited my HSMP application on 5th Jan 2006 and got the approval on 7th Feb 2006. This is my 2nd application, and frankly I didn't expect it to come back so fast(It took 2 months for my first application to be rejected). Because I am currently student dependent, I need to go back to my home country to get EC in three months. However, I am expecting a baby end of March. So the question is, is it possible for me to ask the Entry Clearance application to be extended?

Thanks a lot!

No, you cannot normally extend the validity of your approval letter and IMHO the HO is highly unlikely to accept such a request. There is no harm in contacting them though and let them know of your circumstances, perhaps they may allow an in-country switch on compationate grounds as you are unable to travel in your current circumstances.

Her approval would have expired by then.
