you have three months from the date of issue to get to the uk and activate your visa.
I tell it like it is.

Thanks and validity of my visa is not 2010 its actually 2012..sory about that.
I undestand I have 3 month and 27 days.
Actually I wanted to fly to pakistan from dublin to london and same day from london to pakistan. In pakistan I wanted to stay 6 week and then I wanted to come back to uk.
What do you think my visa will activate from the day when I will each from dublin to londonOr from pakistan to london??

Becasuefrom dublin to london will be just at airpot stay.. is that make sense ?

Please give me urs suggestion.

Thanks in advance

I am not sure about the transit stay, but if you travel from dublin to London, none of the passport (non EEA) get stamped, which means no entry.
It happened personally with me.
Anyway about transit, as you would be confined to airport so I do not see any chances of entering your presence in UK on transit stay, unless you are eager for it, and request one of the immigration officer.

Hope it helps.

Best to enter through london rather than dublin. Dublin is part of the CTA so your visa will not be formally activated.

Then what's the problem if you'll be entering through London anyways?

Date of travel-settlement visa

Post by gretnadawn » Mon Apr 05, 2010 1:32 pm

Hi,
looking at this post, could someone please clarify something for me
My husband, (Egyptian), is applying for the settlement visa online today, and he will need to give 1 month notice of his job, and wishes to stay with his family for 1 month before coming here,if visa is issued obviously.
my question is, we worked out the date of travel to the uk to be around the first/second week of august 2010.
as we will be submitting the form today, this date is more than 3 months away, will this cause any queries with UKBA?
we are assuming that it will take at least 1 month for the visa to be looked at, thus the august date will then be WITHIN 3 months of the ISSUE date

I believe you can only ask for a visa issue date to be deferred for a maximum of 3 months.
