Can I own/open a shop in UK on Tier1 Visa? Is it mandatory for me to work in the field I belongs to? Please clarify.

with a tier-1 visa you can be self-employed

-but i'm not sure about opening a shop. because to run a shop it may require more than one person ...that would be employing someone and hence not self-employment..

Why? He could be self-employed, and also an employer.

smarty1277, no problem you operating your business as a sole trader, or through a limited company.

Idea, I don't know where you have got your idea from, but frankly you are posting nonsense. There is absolutely nothing to stop him employing staff for the shop.

Why does he have to run the shop on his own? What is stopping him from employing people?
