No offence, but could you pose your post in proper, punctuated English? I would like to help, but I don't understand a word you are saying. Would make getting help from this board, a whole lot easier.

Hi
one of my friend wants to apply with fixed deposit as proof for maintanance funds
There are few questions in his mind

1. is it advisable to apply with fixed deposit, even if u get a letter from bank is it advisable or not

2. is it required to break the fixed deposit before applying?

3. what supporting documents can be provided apart from letter from bank explaining liquidity of fixed deposit ?

the case is- he is eligible rite now but if pound goes up he might not remain eligible thats why he isn't willing to wait

one more absurd question from my side - any speculations for gbp going up/down ??

thanks

this time hoping a quick reply from GeneNZ :D

I was denied an EC just for this, and I advise you not to pursue this option. Savings accounts or current accounts are the safest.

Hi,
I got my tier 1 based on FIXED DEPOSIT.
Please find answers below for your queries.

1. is it advisable to apply with fixed deposit, even if u get a letter from bank is it advisable or not
you can apply but Original FD and bank letter is must.

2. is it required to break the fixed deposit before applying?
YOU have to send Original FD , you cant break FD without original.

3. what supporting documents can be provided apart from letter from bank explaining liquidity of fixed deposit ?
1.Bank letter ,FD is enough

Please find below Bank letter format for Fixed Deposit which I used for my application and succeed.

>>>> letter format starts>>>
Fixed Deposit Certificate

Date:XX-Mar-2010

This is to certify that Mr XXXXXXX , S/o. XXXXXXX, Address XXXXX is having a fixed deposit for Rs. XXXXXX (so and so rupees only ) associated with A/c XXXX and details as under:

FDR No. NAME OF THE FDR HOLDER AMOUNT
FD No/XXX Mr. NAME Rs.XXXX

Date:XXX When started FD due on XXX (Mention when is the due date)

#### use below if FD is renewed start
(The same FDR is renewed on XXX date with No. FD XXXX )
Date:XXX When renewed period starts due on XXX (Mention when is the due date )
####use below if FD is renewed end

We confirm that balance amount is this FDR is Rs. XXXXX(so and so rupees only ) since XXX date as on XXXX(present date). This FDR can be encashable immediately on demand by the applicant. This FDR is under auto Renewal Scheme.

This certificate is issued on the specific request if the account holder and at no risk and cost to the issuing officer of the bank

Yours truly
