Visa dates - Little confusion

first of all , thank you so much for all the assistance you have given so far, which made life so easier for me :)
I am so grateful and will continue contributing here!

one more doubt i have now
My timelines
Submitted on : 19th March 2010 at Bangalore VFS
set to process on : 24th March 2010
approved and dispatched on : 7th April 2010
Received passport on : 8th April 2010
Validity : 1st May 2010 to 1st May 2013

Does my first entry to be made in 28 days starts from 7th April 2010 or does it start from 1st May 2010?

I don't want to see this being a problem for my settlement in future! Accordingly i want to resign from my current job!

Immigration Board helped me all the way to make my appication on 19th March 2010 and living in Uk since then!

Awesome, then i think i made a mistake in the application while i was filling he first column asking for the planned date of travel, i should have given 1st June :(

Now i have to request my manager to release me soon :(
