Hi Everyone
My first post on this forum.
I had 2 questions and would really appreciate if members could please try to answer them.
(1). If after applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain (under 10 years continuous legal stay) I then request for SAR file, when the Home Office sends me SAR file, would the SAR file containing my history also contain details of my recent ILR application i.e. whether my application has been sent to Croydon, Liverpool, Sheffield etc. for processing?
(2). Let’s say I have completed all 10 years of my stay in the UK on a student visa and 10 years of stay was completed in April 2010. I am still studying and the present study programme gets over in June 2010.
If the Home Office take approx. 6 months to process my application then I would receive a reply in approx., in and around, October 2010.
After receiving ILR a person has to wait for 12 months before applying for citizenship.
So:
(i) Since my studies get over in June 2010 and if from October 2010 (date by which I would, hopefully, get ILR stamped on my passport) to October 2011 (when I am eligible to apply for citizenship) I do not manage to get a job, would the Home Office ask me what I was doing between the period October 2010 to October 2011?
Does a person have to necessarily show proof of doing something (studies, job etc.) after receiving his/her ILR and the intermittent period of 12 months following his/her ILR & before applying for citizenship?
(ii) My apologies in advance if this second part of the query has already been raised many times on this forum in the past but after receiving my ILR if I was neither studying (since I complete my studies in June 2010) nor let’s say working from October 2010 to October 2011, what sort of documents would I be then required to submit along with my current passport when applying for citizenship in October 2011?
