So many people on this thread having applied for ILR under 10 year continuous legal stay have received their ILRs of late....no one has any idea what are the 'standard documents' that have to be submitted when applying for citizenship after 12 months of receiving ILR (for those who have received ILR after spending all 10 years in the UK on a student visa)?People who have completed all 10 years of their continuous legal stay in the UK purely on a student visa and after having applied and received their ILRs from the Home Office, what are the ‘standard documents’ they may have to submit when they are then applying for citizenship after having received their ILRs (esp. if they have neither studied nor worked in the 12 months after they received their ILRs)?
The list of documents can be found on page 16 of this document.optimist_eternal wrote: So many people on this thread having applied for ILR under 10 year continuous legal stay have received their ILRs of late....no one has any idea what are the 'standard documents' that have to be submitted when applying for citizenship after 12 months of receiving ILR (for those who have received ILR after spending all 10 years in the UK on a student visa)?
I meant that if you if have been solely on student visas for the whole of the duration of the 10 years and those visas overlap one another without any gaps, then your passport should suffice to prove your residence, without needing documents from your educational establishment (the requirement clearly states "passports OR...")optimist_eternal wrote:Foxy, many thanks for the response.
One small query. You wrote 'However, your passports may also suffice for this purpose, depending on what visa you have been on'.
Please could you slightly expand on what exactly you mean by 'depending on what visa you have been on'. Thanks.

I'm confused too as to where the 3 months has come from. I know that the old timescales used to be 14 weeks/3 months prior to the 6 months SLA being implemented. I applied through a solicitor and queried this through them. Their reply was long term applicants have every right to complain and demand urgent attention to their application after 6 months. Up to then it's best to take the acknowledgement letter at its word and let UKBA be unless it's an urgent query.powermatic wrote:can someone please tell me:
where did you hear that we can be enquiring about the progress of application after 3 months? In my acknowledgement letter none of the timeline is mentioned - instead they wrote that I should not disturb them before they will write back to me.
