HSMP Dependent visa processing time

Post by srmbuddy » Wed Apr 07, 2010 5:16 pm

Hi All,
I have applied for HSMP dependent visa for my son who is 3 months old(born in India).
I am on a HSMP visa from 2006 and my wife is on my dependent visa from 2008.
I have applied for my son's visa as HSMP dependent at VFS chennai on 15/03/10. The website says that the application is under process but it has been more than 15 working days.
Has anybody else applied recently and could you please let me know on how long they take to process the visa ?

I am a bit worried ..
Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Have you applied for EC as a HSMP dependent (VAF2 form) or as a Tier 1 dependent (VAF10 form).. for your child?

regards

Greetings,

I applied for work permit dependent visa on March 5th 2010. I am seeing the same status as yours.

I went through the website of Home Office and their website states that it takes anywhere from 15 working days to 90 working days to have final decision.

I wish yourself and myself luck to hear back on positive note as we both have genuine cases.

I am shocked to see how much time is being sought by the BHC on clearing up the back log.

I saw this board where there are people who filed application in February and they still are waiting for HSMP and tier 1 dependent visas.

We are way behind them. I filed on March 5th 2010.

Seems we need to wait another month or so for family renunion.

Ashish - thanks for your reply.

anyway will have to wait :( .. wishing you luck and please update this thread if you get any update ..
Thanks

At least your application shows "under process"!

EC application as HSMP dependent (HSMP approval 2006) submitted at VFS Delhi 4 weeks ago still reflects "application forwarded to BHC".

Dear sushdmehta,

Perhaps you applied recently.

Just FYI---BHC was closed from April 3rd thru April 6th. As you might have seen the thread already, guys are in que for those who submitted their application as late as February 23rd.

Please be patient and you shall surely get the visa if you have your documents intact.

I wish you all the luck for speedy process as well as positive results.

Information I have collected from various boards is - the common delay factor is the verification. The BHC touches the base with our banks and verifies and confirms if our financial statements are valid and genuine.

BHC at times do not get timely response which delays the process.

I guess BHC is not to be blammed but the delayed process from Indian banks.

Ashish - In my case I am in the UK and have submitted all the bank statement from UK bank and still my application is in process for last 4 weeks. So I am not sure if it is because of Indian Banks verification response time.

Usually your case should be given more priority because its your young son who definitely needs your attention and support.

I am sure you are going to get it real soon.

Good luck and wishes with you mate.

I called up VFS today and they told me that the processing takes time because of the backlog. Do they need more than 5 weeks to process an application ?

Hi SRM,

Calling VFS office is really of no use. They see the same status as we do on the BHC website.

They are mere documents receivers and dispatchers appointed by BHC.

Reason of delay can be multiple - backlog, verification, assessment of case by studying papers, establishing the authenticity.

I know and agree process can be frustrating at times but then we need to practice restrating and keep our cool and hope for the best.

You shall definitley get through if the papers are falling into the order.

Good wishes with you mate.

The best part of the forum is that it helps us keep our composure and help us be calm and composed.

I could not agree more that the process is taking more than usual time.

But then we do feel pacified to some extent finding out some information or the other here on this forum and to read experiences from all the other respected users.

Thanks for your wishes mate :)

Fellas,

I was going through the official website and i found good news that I thought to share with you all folks. Here it goes folks: -

"31 March 2010: New visa customer service standards. From 1 April 2010 the UK Border Agency is changing the customer service standards for processing visa applications. The changes are to complete 90 per cent of visa applications (except settlement categories), in not more than 3 weeks, 98 per cent in 6 weeks, and 100 per cent in 12 weeks. There are also new standards for biometric appointments and processing appeals that have been allowed by an immigration judge. Please see the UK Border Agency website for more information about the customer service standards."

Essentially meaning that VFS doesn't know why it is taking time as VFS has no say in decision making nor does BHC share such info. with VFS.

Do post when the EC application gets decided upon.

Dear Veera,

You may need the following:-

1. Your bank statement in original with bank's logo and bank manager's stamp for the last six months maintaining sufficient balance for each of the dependent that you may be applying for.
2. Copy of all your visas and passport. (Better you accompany her with your originals to the VFS as in my case VFS office saw originals of my wife).
3. Your P60 form.
4. Your marriage certificate.
5. Tenancy or mortgage agreement.
6. Utility bills.
7. Wedding photographs if you recently got married.
8. Your salary slips for the last 6 months.
9. Any other type of investment that you have done.
10. Recent photographs of your.
11. VAF 2 or VAF 10 form depending on whether you still have HSMP visa or Tier-1 visa.
11. Your and your wife's birth certificate.

Did VFS Delhi accept VAF2 form for your application (WP dependent) or was it VAF10 (and 50K) that they demanded (Tier 2 dependent)?

I filled in VAF 2 form as my wife is HSMP and rules changed after that. I am sure Tier 1 and Tier 2 protocol has different VAF forms.

I shall strongly recommend some other senior person on the board to guide you which form you need to fill exactly in conjunction to what type of visa you are applying for.
