Wife's income considered?

Post by Alowishus » Tue Apr 13, 2010 8:51 pm

Is there any way to have my wife's income considered in my application?

Neither of us alone garners more than five points for income.

When you say, wife's income considered, do you mean for earning's proof?

If that is so, NO

She and I have comparable educations, and have always made nearly the same amount of money. Just to be clear, you're telling me that 'our' application will be rejected or approved based solely on points claimed by only one of us - the principal applicant - and that the other spouse is essentially treated as little more than a hanger-on?

Not that I don't believe it, but that seems a pretty bone-headed immigration policy.

Yes it is. But, it is the fact.

Usual response when one doesn't qualify!

When one named individual is applying for an immigration category to live and work another country - in his own right, should the entire household income be considered?

Oh, it's not sour grapes - I actually have no interest in going to the UK. I think it's really sad what's become of the place over the last ten years or so. I read about Cameron's talking about immigration caps today, so I thought I'd investigate the current immigration policies.
