Advice

Post by Squid » Thu Apr 15, 2010 10:17 am

My friend has registered here so I am using her account with her knowledge.

I need some advice I am on a multi visa working holiday and my visa will expire in 3 months time.

I want to remain in the UK.

What is the best way forward? Can I switch category?

Or will I have to go back?

Help please.

Thanks

Apply for an immigration category that you qualify for. Check UKBA website for different immigration schemes currently available.

Whether one or who can switch from one category to another depends on the immigration category one wishes to apply for. So, determine which immigration scheme you qualify for .. and then see if you can switch from within UK or if you need to return to home country to apply from there.

Thank you. This is so confusing.

I have had a look I wanted to do self employed but they want £200K as evidence :-(

Can I switch from my current visa to a student visa? or do you think it be easier for me to switch to skilled work tier 2 - I have employer but will find out if they are registered sponsors.

Does anyone have any other idea or suggestion?

Don't forget for Tier 2 there are resident labour tests.

And I'm pretty sure you can only switch in country from WHM/YMS to spouse or visit visa but I could be wrong and often am.

You are unable to switch from YMS/WHV in any points based system from within the UK...which is why switching to Spouse is allowable...no points required.
