My company tels me that the work permit fee is my problem

Post by sovtek » Fri Apr 16, 2010 5:07 pm

I was told the other day that I'm expected to pay the work permit fee myself on it's renewal in six weeks time. They completely sprung this on me. The also made out that I somehow tried to deceive them when I got hired and that the first fee was paid was a "goodwill gesture".
I'm sure a lot of people are now experiencing this. Anyone have advice besides "just pay it"?

Just pay it mate. thats the law now nothing you can do about it

its either you or employer, its your license to work, anyway just see it like that but you may disagree with me.

just make sure its in your work contract.

hope that helps good luck!

You may be right as in making things "easier" for myself. However this is something that companies will/have already starting doing and if people "just pay it" then it will become the norm.
My contract doesn't mention anything about a work permit or the fee.
