Life in UK test

Post by malathi » Mon Apr 19, 2010 10:44 am

Hi,

I am planning to apply for SET(M).

I need to pass the Life in UK test.I do not know how difficult this test will be?

Also Do I need to read the Life in the United Kingdom: A Journey to Citizenship handbook before taking the test? Does it help?

Please reply.

Thanks
Malathi

Buy the book and study it religiously. I've lived in the UK for 17 years not even I could pass the test without having studied the official book. Not even my friends who have lived here all their lives would have passed without the book. It was the only book I read leading up to my test.

There are also practice test books available. I brought one and found it very helpful as a way of measuring my knowledge. There are also on-line practice tests details of one can be found in this thread http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... &start=200

The test, like any exam, is easy once you've done your studying. I finished it within 10-15 minutes.

Kiwigirl25 is right.
I have lived here for a lot longer than her and the first time I took the test (out of curiosity) I failed miserably.
It is not common knowledge and you need to study to pass the test but as long as you study the required material it is easy to pass

the test is not difficult but one need to study well official book "Life in the United Kingdom: Official Study Guide, 2013 Edition". buy the book online from http://www.tsoshop.co.uk/bookstore.asp? ... 0113413423. you can also download the pdf of the book from above website. the cost for the book is £7.99. Take some practice sessions from online websites i.e. http://www.officiallifeintheuk.co.uk/test/ http://www.thelifeinuktest.co.uk
