Yes, indeed..its mandatory to keep the money in your account for 3 consecutive months.

Not sure about this, but with no offences meant to anyone, this has been one of the most common frauds committed by students applying for universities in the USA. Borrow money, have it in their bank account, produce a statement and return the money to the owner.
I dont mean to say that you are doing the same, since it genuinely could be your money, but just a point to note and the reasons behind money requirement. Atleast in these market conditions, one needs to be sure to have money (their own) and nothing virtual ...

umm, if HO become suspicious of lump sum payment of 2800 pounds then yes they will ask for proof of earning. And if you cant provide it, then im afraid you wont get points. it doesnt matter if you keep this amount in bank for 3 months or not.(for claiming earning points)

ps. beside you need two different evidence. whats your second proof apart from showing it in your bank statement?
