Bonus Consideration - Plz help

Hi,
I am planning to apply for Tier 1 - General in the 1st week of may, I have a small query about bonus inclusion in my previous earnings.
I plan to claim points on previous earnings from 01 Feb 09 - 31 Jan 10 ( as these 12 months fall in 15 months of my application date). Now I have my bonus component paid in March 09 salary which is included in my pay slip and also shows on my bank statement.
Now this bonus is basically for the period from Jan08-Dec08, but paid in March 09, Can I include this component in my previous earnings to claim points?

IMO, you include it. There are couple of points that I can validate my claim:
1. Though the amount was for 08-09. the money has been paid in march 09 and the tax has been deducted during that time. Isn't it?
2. I was in similar situation, where my bonus for previous year was given during December time frame. I got my visa

Also is gross or net sal to be considered while claiming points?

I ask this question because the bank statement will list only the net salary.
