The fee for a standard ceremony in UK was included in the fee you paid for naturalisation.rogerroger wrote:hey i got my ceremony next week, there is no mention of being charged for it. will i be charged for it at the ceremony?
The length depends on the enthusiasm of the local authority organising it, and the number of people picking up certificates. But you should be able to "get it over with" well within an hour....how long does the ceremony take? can i get it over with in an hour?

No problem. You clearly appreciate the three month time limit, so do ensure that you comply with that.boylove wrote:I want to go there on my current passport and come back in 3 weeks.
Absolutely right! You become British at the instant your certificate is handed to you at the Citizenship Ceremony.Guess I am not British till I go for the ceremony.

24/01/2006 - Application received in Liverpool
04/02/2006 - Fee debited
10/02/2006 - Received acknowledgment letter, dated 08/02
Interestingly, my acknowledgment letter doesn't include the standard "while we carry out the character reference checks" that I read other members received in their letters.
Nope! nothing yet.... everyday I check my posts(mail) and bank account.... no letters, nothing debited... I read on some other thread that the letter will be glossy... not the usual white or brown paper envelope... normally I throw glossy ones straight to recycle bin(assuming its all junk mail).. But I am being bit careful these days...mhunjn wrote:Has the fee been taken from your account?...
