Effective Start Date of tier 2 visa

Post by visaforv10 » Thu Apr 22, 2010 9:44 am

Dear Friends,

I am applying for my tier 2 on 15th May 2010 through premium application. The start date on my certificate of sponsorship is 14th June 2010 and will be joining new company from 21st June 2010.

Now, ukba website states,

“If you are already inside the UK in a different category, you may be able to apply to switch into the Tier 2 (General) category. If we approve your application, you will be able to live and work here for a maximum of three years or the time given in your certificate of sponsorship plus 14 days, whichever is shorter.â€

don worry too much about this... HO will allow you to apply for ILR afer the end of this 3year extension. (5 year in total give or take)

if you are short by few days, upto 28 days, then you can still apply for ILR.

just thought to let you know

regards
