Regarding travelling date

Post by cool_guy123 » Thu Apr 29, 2010 1:21 pm

Dear All,

First question of Vaf9 form:
On which date do you wish to travel to the UK?

I am applying now (don’t want to delay because rules could change anytime) but I wish to travel to the UK after 3 months. Can I put the date July 25 20210. Will they issue me the visa starting from July 25 2010 till July 24 2012?

In most of the cases the caseworker gives the visa validity date from the date of travel you mention..

You can put a max of 3months forward from the date you apply as date of travel

No need to get any approval letter.

You have to fill VAF9 and appendix1 forms. take them along with supporting documents and passport to any visa application centres and if you qualify you will be given visa.

Go through the policy guidance for more info and required documents

Re First Q in VAF9- On which date do you wish to travel

Post by shobitha » Fri Apr 30, 2010 4:34 pm

Hi,

I am targetting to submit my documents at max by May 15, 2010. In the VAF 9 form can I mention the date I wish to travel as June 25, 2010?

Is the date of travel too close to the date of application? Will Caseworker possibly accept this date? Is there any chances that my application for Tier 1 visa gets rejected saying my date of travel is too close to the date of application? I apologize if my questions sounds senseless. Please advice, assuming my date of application as 15 May, 2010, what is the closest travel date that I can mention in the VAF 9 document.

Regards,
Shobitha

Hi there,

I am also applying on 13 May 2010, i also put a date of 30 June 2010 on the form. I also had a previous experience with my Visiting visa when i applied for visa on 8-dec-2008 and wrote the travel date as 12-dec-2008. And they approved my visa on 11-dec-2008. so based on that personal experience i can safely say that close dates doesn't matter.

But it depends from which country you are applying and what is the average processing time of visa. based on that you can write your travel date.

Good Luck
Regards
