Need help -ILR application and ability to maintain one self

Could someone please let me know if having an outstanding loan from a UK bank yet to be completely cleared mean that one cannot adequately maintain himself in the context application for ILR?

your ILR is not dependant on your bank balance unless you have defaulted payments and they have called you to courts so on and so forth....
