Thanks smalltime. I really appreciate what you did :) Yupp I am. I guess I am gonna write to the INIS and see what they say. I am in no mood to pay another 950 euros for the translation though. :)

Hey Mad....listen

I received my cert too....but this is in Irish.
Can we request one in english? I dont know, I thought it would be in irish as default language. But after seeing your query and following up answers, I wanted to know do we have any choice to request for english version of Cert ???

Guys, if anybody know the answer, please reply

I am looking for a advice, i have recieved SW payment in May 2003 for two weeks since then i haven't claimed from SW, will this have any impact on the citizenship decision (Applied in August '2008)

Thanks
HI Goonie,

If you has taken SW payments for 2 weeks in the year 2003, then it should be alright. Dont worry about that...once of my friend who is currently working along with me has taken SW payment for couple of months in the year 2002, he also claimed house rent in the process, but he didn't had any problem in in naturalization application.

The fact that you have been working and paying tax since 2003 itself shows that you are resilient and not depending on state to take care of yourself....good Luck

Whats your Time Lines?
Very few left from 2006 for various reasons and most of them applied in 2007 have received and I guess now approvals are from last quarter of 2007 and early 2008.

Hi Bugu07,

There should be some reason for delay and i dont think any application would be stopped for no reason. All they need is reports from various departments and once they have that, then they would compile them into a file and present to the minister. Reasons could be not getting the reports from departments. For example, if you have multiple addresses then it could potentially delay in the processing your Garda report. It cant be same in all cases.

But any how, someone who is waiting from 2005 and 2006 should approach TD and address their concern. I'm sure they would follow up the case and that will have impact. You can see the discussions in the parliament about the pending immigration cases and it would definetly have impact on those applicants who are waiting from 2005 and 2006 onwards

Smalltime,

The maximum a postal order can be done is 650 euros.
It wont make any difference to take 650 and 300 postal orders but they charge separately for both and it would cost you 7.5 euro something.

The best thing is to go to bank and take a draft for 950 euros, it would cost you 1.9 euro in AIB bank. Thats what I did. Hope this helps

applicants who have stayed in 2-3 addresses within Co.Dublin also get delayed with the Garda report? my friends in Co.Wicklow got their Garda reports within 4 to 5 months' time.

Hi All,
congrats to all who got naturalized lately.

My two cents on why 2005 and 2006 applications why they are delayed :

i) prior to 2007 as in 2005 & 2006 batch all apps were sent to Dublin ( Department which was to be de-centralised and ppl were to move to Tipp. But that didnt happen)

ii) ppl who applied in 2005 or 2006 were here for more than 5 yrs, than INIS didn't existed. There was no GNIB card. Just a book and all records were on paper.

iii) Due to reason ii) as mentioned above , checks might be real slow for ppl who applied in 2005 or 2006.

iv) 2005 / 2006 are old apps probably burried somewhere in Dublin office and they cant track them/misplaced or departments are not replying to their follow ups.

Tipp office is clearing application backlog and we have seen on this forum that ppl from 2007 and even some 2008 batch have gotten naturalized.

BUT all i would say, there is light at the end of the tunnel if everything is right with your application. Ppl from 2005 and 2006 batch Get your stamp 5 for peace of mind and hope for the best.
Best of luck.

Kind Regards
Tiggs

Do you know of anyone from 2008 who's been naturalised (based on living and working here for 5 yrs, not on the basis of Irish spouse)?

In my opinion Irish Citizenship is like a draw but it'd not like the lotto which is nearly impossible. as long as you have ref number and DOJ confirms you have applied just wait for it and avoid trouble. Get stamp 4 or 5 at the meantime.

There are thousand applying for naturalisation and only few on this forum there are Many approved every month I think. Your time will come in the meantime enjoy life and good health as this is most important than Irish citizenship right?!

Don't think you can do anything about the Garda report... One just has to wait.

thanks yeah its a relief getting it in two years. but others get it in a year! on work visas.

as I said its like a draw. just keep out of trouble and SW then just wait for the letter . follow up every other month is not a bad idea as well

You should receive acknowledgement letters in the next few days. Mine came about 3 days after I submitted the documents and fee.
