My application IS straightforward. There are no gaps, I haven't left the country since I came here. All my visas were applied for on time. Just from looking at my passport it will take about 2 mins to see that there are no gaps and I have maintained 10 year legal stay. So it's nothing to do with my application that is making it take so long.powermatic wrote: NoWayOut I am sorry if my question is of sensitive nature - but did you think that your application is a straight forward one or are there any issues or perhaps gaps in our stay, well, any reason really why it may take so long?
Ah ha! That definitely explains your quick response, people in your category tend to hear between 10 and 14 weeks.sa wrote:never been on student visa.have always been working..so combination of visas including hsmp and permit free etc, though could have waited till next year to apply on hsmp category.
WELLCOME TO THE FORUMGeostar2010 wrote:Hi evryone! I am new here...but on the same boat nervous, nervous... Applyed for the ILR on 09.03.2010, still waiting... was delighted to find this forum so that I can let a bit of steam out too
What a coincidence!!! yeah, I sent on 9th as well...and i've been on student visa since 2000. I sent the papers through my soliciter .... and to be honest with you was well impressed with the efficiency of the HO when it came to taking the money from the account... on the other hand it takes them ages to process applications....powermatic wrote:WELLCOME TO THE FORUMGeostar2010 wrote:Hi evryone! it seems that we applied on almost same date - I sent mine on 9th and received aknowledgement dated 10th March 2010. Stick to the forum and once you get your documents back, please log in and share the news. What is your 10 year stay made up from?
I do think that someone who has a work permit of HSMP hears a lot sooner, which is nice, but somewhat bias....
So guys can you all please specify who are students and who is on a 'better' status now? My 10 year stay is a combination of student and dependent visa.
Sorry, that would be my fault. I just didn't think there was a point in updating yesterday and then having to re-do it again today.NoWayOut wrote:Can people make sure they update the waiting times for still pending applications when they repost the list otherwise it's not accurate and more confusing to update and keep track.
Yup, should give people a better idea of when to expect their documents back. Also I would really to like to see if that theory of working during the 10 year period results in getting a faster response from the UKBA.coolboyuk wrote:Thanks nowayout. and I also think it is better to include what sub-category you applied such as 10 year student, 7 year student + 3 year work permit, etc.
I agree, the more information that is collated on this list the better informed future and current applicants are on how long they can expect to wait. Also if anyone decides to take this waiting time issue to the UKBA or their MP they will have more statistical information to present.Beige wrote:Yup, should give people a better idea of when to expect their documents back.
