Tier 1 (General) - Limit on Stay outside UK

Post by coolguycp1 » Wed May 12, 2010 12:56 pm

My friend is intending to apply for a Tier 1 (General) Visa. He is presently working in India and, he has checked his eleigibility under PBS and has ensured he has other supporting evidence to apply for the visa.

In case he gets the visa, he will seek employment in UK. He will travel to UK within the three months from the date of visa issue but he does not intend to stay for more than a month initially as he does not intend to resign from his current job in India until he gets an offer in UK.

If he does not get an offer during his first visit to UK, he will go back and continue working in India. In this situation, how long can he stay out of UK so that his Tier 1 visa doe not become invalid? Is there any such limit of periods of stay out of UK which might hamper his visa? He is not really concerned about ILR at this stage.

He can enter or leave UK before the date of his visa expiry, but, remember the date of expiry also means that it will be the last day when he can stay in UK. And also, Tier 1 visa means to attract highly skilled immigrants, expecting them to become the economically acitve migrants of UK. The bottom line is, as long as your friend can prove that he is worthy of this visa being entitled to him, he can enter or leave UK anytime, before the expiry of his visa.

Hi ,

Don't try to do it for a long time . As per current post , you have to show a solid grounds to retain visa. Kindly put in mind they stop you at airports and ask questions and if you do not satisfy them , they refuse to grant you entry . This is the worst case ....
Thanks

Ali
