Once EC is issued for one year period, can a HSMP holder enter UK any time after the starting date of EC?

Will there be any objection if I enter UK with only 6 months period remaining in the current HSMP visa?

There shouldnt be a problem at the port of entry although I would advise you to try and come earlier.

I thought the EC validity was for a period of max 3 months

You are probably confusing 2 different issues here. You need to get your EC done within 3 months from the date of your HSMP approval or else your HSMP approval expires. Once you have a visa stamp on your passport, the visa is valid for travel for its entire duration and not just the first 3 months. If you come in after 6 months of the issue of this visa then the problems you have is in your extension. As seen with other people you may not get a full 3 year extension.
