Opening Bank Account before travelling to UK

Is it possible to open a Bank account online before travelling to UK?

I suspect the answer is no, if only because you will not have the evidence required to ensure that the bank knows its customer, and where they live, and thus complies with the Money Laundering regulations in force in the UK.

But your existing bank, do they have any branches in the UK? If so do contact them and see if they can help.

try ICICI, they have a branch in london or maybe HSBC

even though they have branches, they dont open accounts that can be operated in UK. To open an UK account, we need address proofs.,or atleast an UK visa and proof we landed here. HSBC is a the most linient expecting only a reference letter from the company.
