Really sorry to hear that. How did you send you application? Was it by the NCS? If so they were meant to tell you or not whether you were eligible to apply and also probably what the rehabilitation period was?

I suppose you can apply after 5years from the date you last received the points on your licence.

I would understand in a different circumstance but my WHOLE family is british!! what gives? Mom. dad, 3 sisters and a niece!!!!!

I wont ever bother applying for citizenship! It will take a big change of heart! Whoever i marry will be british anyway!! loool

unfortunately i drove my car 25mins before my insurance started!! i wasnt disqualified though!

that is really unlucky, did you had to go to court or just rec points from dvla

Very sorry to hear about the rejection.
From my understanding to the law is that its nothing to do with having 6 or 12 points on your licence. However, its the way you have taken these points, in your case it was the insurance which they consider as serious offence. If your 6 points were for speeding for example it would not have affected you case unless it was given by court. Always remember everyone DO NOT DRIVE WITHOUT INSURANCE if you want to apply for citizenship, its not worth the risk.
You can apply again when you conviction is spent after 5 years from the date you were convicted.

I understand their stance and rules are there for a reason, so despite being disappointed, ive got my indefinite leave anyway! back again in 10 years!

wow mate...Looks like you've been waiting for ages (just over two months) for your letter considering that the decision on your application was made on 25-03-2010 (as you've stated in your post). They usually say allow 10 working days to receive letter. Have you queried the delay with UKBA?

It was really unfortunate, Are you aware of that the car was uninsured? If no, did you explain this in page 14 and requested them to consider the case favour to you?
