Changes to Tier 2 Policy Guidance

Hi everyone

I had just been to the UK Border Agency website, and found the below news article.

The UK Border Agency has included an addition to the Tier 2 Policy Guidance (version 04/10). This replaces the period of grants for all applications except Intra-Company Transfer: Graduate Trainees and Skills Transfer.

Can anyone tell me what the meaning of period of grants is, in Tier 2 Visa?

Period of grant = duration of leave to enter/remain (visa).
