Visa start date

Post by Pranvayu » Wed May 26, 2010 12:51 pm

I am planning on applying for Tier 1 (General) now with aim of applying for my family later on down the line.

I am applying alone for the following two reasons
1) I don't have enough funds in the bank at the moment hence will be transferring funds to my accounts now and will file for family after 3 months
2) Want to be able to secure a good job before filing for family's visa

I have the following questions:

(Q-1) Should I mention "yes" to the question which asks if my family will accompany me later?

(Q-2) Also, is it wise/better to state the reason why they are not applying with me? (stating non availability of funds)

(Q-3) Can I request for the start date of my visa to be 3 or 4 months later?

Q-3 is the main question I seek answer from.

Many thanks for your help.

Ya mate definately u can mention start date as 2 months later. I also had mention the same. However i had given reason too. you should give a valid reason, avoid saying insufficient money kind of stuffs.

When I had applied, I had asked for 3 months later date - Didn't give any reason.

Home Office has no problem when you ask visa start date in future. However, max is 3 months.

Fee for dependent

Post by Pranvayu » Thu Jun 03, 2010 4:27 pm

I was planning on applying for my Tier 1 now and applying for my wife and kids 3 months down the line due to not enough maintenance funds to show for all presently.

Will I have to file a fresh application for them as dependent later or can I include them in my application now mentioning they will aply later?

I am asking this question as I will have to pay for the visa fee for my self now and then once again if I apply for them later. Is there a way around paying for them later?

Any input will be much appreciated.
