From Tier2 Dependendent to Tier 1?

Hi All,

I am travelling to UK with my husband on Tier2 dependent. Although I am eligible to apply for Tier1 from India claiming my Indian salary for last 12 months. But since application processsing is taking too long these days and due to personal reasons, I need to fly with him

Can I switch from Tier2 dependent to Tier 1 within UK?
A prompt reply will be highly appreciated.

No. You will have to go to your home country.

You should go back to home country. If you qualify for Tier 1 on your own, go for it even if mean that you will be joining your husband after some time. Personally I believe that having Tier 1 General visa of your own is much netter than dependent of Tier 2. At worst case, if your husband's lose his Tier 2 visa, you can still work in UK and your husband can apply Tier 1 dependent visa. Make a wise decision even if means little delay.
